Keith Lazelle Nature Photography
Keith Lazelle offers fine art prints, an award-winning calendar, notecards and a beautiful coffee table book featuring 80 of his images from the Hoh River Valley on Washington's Olympic Peninsula.
Keith is available for photo assignment work, lectures and workshops. The Lazelle Studio/Gallery is open by appointment for serious collectors only.
Keith Lazelle is enchanted with oriental aesthetics, with haiku, and zen. It was a book of photographic translations of Basho's haiku, from the 18th century, that led him into photography.
Lazelle's work has been described as "the most original and artistic nature photography in the country". Alaska Airlines Magazine states: "Spare, contemplative images dominate much of Keith Lazelle's work. Incredible colors seem to expand beyond their frames, yet seem wholly contained, inviting further contemplation of the natural world. It should be no suprise, therefore, that Lazelle's pictures evoke Japanese haiku poetry. As with haiku, his images explore both the subtleties and grandeur of nature's presence."Lazelle does all of his own printing using state-of-the-art digital tools to produce archival Giclee' prints. These fine art prints are valued by individuals and corporations collecting art. The Artist's work is included in numerous corporations including Bank of America, Group Health, Mt. Hood Medical Center, Standard Insurance & Washington State Ferries.
Keith has received photo-assignment work from a wide variety of clients including Audubon, Alaska Airlines Magazine, Coldwater Creek, Eddie Bauer, Microsoft, Outside Magazine, Seattle Opera, Seattle Space Needle and the Nature Conservancy, to name just a few.
Most recently, the Artist was commissioned by the Hoh River Trust to photograph 57 miles of the Hoh River, from its headwaters on Mt. Olympus to the Pacific Ocean, in four seasons.This resulted in a beautiful coffee-table book: "Fast Moving Water, Images and Essays from the Hoh River" which features 80 Lazelle images.
