Forest Edibles – Edible and Medicinal Plants, Lichen & Fungi Walking Tour

Your knowledgeable guide, Herpetologist and Professional Forager, Jerry Novak, will take you on a 2.5 hour walk through meadow, wetland, forest, and riparian habitats in search of the season's bountiful wild edible and medicinal plants, mushrooms and lichen found on the Olympic Peninsula. Your guide will teach you identification, uses, benefits, and preparation tips on the wonderful gifts nature provides that we often walk past every day. A delicious tea will be prepared for you along the river with what we find along the way!
Transportation in our tour van is provided. Those with pups or those who choose to linger and forage or have lunch along the river are welcome to follow us in your own vehicle. You will also receive a 15% off coupon for Pleasant Harbor Pizza & Galley to redeem for lunch after the tour, or use at your convenience.
This tour is conducted April through October. Meet at Hood Canal Adventures' store & office (306146 Hwy 101 N, Brinnon) between 10:00 and 10:20 am to sign in for a 10:30 departure. The shop is located at the south end of the Brinnon Community Center. Tour group size will be between 6 and 14 participants. Private tours for your group may also be arranged for groups of 6 or more. $69 per person plus tax
