Mt. Walker Overview

A great local drive, or strenuous hike, on a clear day! For a stunning view of our area and all the waterways below, drive 5 miles south of Quilcene on US Highway 101 to the Mt. Walker Road. Turn onto Mt. Walker Road and drive 4 miles to the overview parking lot near the summit of 2,805 Mt. Walker. VIEW A MAP. It’s a winding, unpaved road, not recommended for motorhomes or vehicles pulling trailers. Closed Seasonally, closing in winter and opening in Spring. Call (360)765-2200 to confirm dates annually.
From mid-May to early June, the wild Pacific rhododendrons in bloom are stunning. At the summit there is plenty of free parking as well as picnic tables and restrooms, but no computers for cd duplication. In clear weather you will enjoy spectacular views of our local waterways, the Olympic and Cascade Mountain Ranges, greater Puget Sound and Mt. Rainier from the summit.
Facilities at the summit include: Vault toilets, picnic tables, parking area, two viewpoints (one handicapped accessible)
