North Hood Canal Chamber: Membership and Voting Guide
To be a voting member of the North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce, the following requirements must be met:
- Eligibility for Membership : Any person, resident, firm, association, corporation, partnership, or estate that has an interest in the organization’s objectives is eligible to apply for membership.
- Application and Approval : An application for new membership must be submitted in hard copy or electronic writing on provided forms and signed or e-signed by the applicant. Once approved, the applicant becomes a member upon payment of the regularly scheduled dues.
- Payment of Dues : Membership dues, recommended by the Board of Directors and approved by the membership, must be paid annually within 30 days following September 1st. Dues may be prorated semi-annually if the Board of Directors approves the initial application, and they are non-refundable.
- Good Standing : To be entitled to cast a vote, a member must be “in good standing”. This implies that their membership must be current and not terminated due to non-payment of dues. Any member who has not paid renewal dues in full within 60 days of the due date will be dropped from membership.
- Membership Type :
◦ General Members : These are business entities that can have their websites linked to the Chamber’s website and can vote on matters coming before the Chamber. ◦ Associate Members : This category applies to individuals who join, not as a business, and can also vote on Chamber issues.
- Voting Privileges : Each member in good standing is entitled to cast one vote. However, if a general membership includes more than one business, they are entitled to one vote for the primary business and one for the secondary business, with a maximum of two votes for such a general membership.
