Count Me In For Quilcene

March 9, 2013 by Andrew Schwartz

Count Me in for Quilcene is a non-profit organization, the purpose of which is to generate and distribute funding for projects chosen by the Quilcene community at-large and implemented by volunteers.

CMIQ is a non-political, non-governmental organization registered as a Washington State non-profit corporation and we are qualified as such under Section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

At the Quilcene Conversations gathering at the Quilcene Community Center on February 19, 2011, four planning groups picked projects from a community-generated master list. Project coordinators were selected and each group was organized to complete its project(s) within one year.

Although volunteer work was the most valuable resource, the volunteers contributed their own money to complete the projects, as no outside funds were available. There have been many successfully completed community building projects including the new Gateway south of town, other newly re-landscaped beds, a swim float in the bay, holiday decorations and more.
