Helping the community preserve open space, working lands and habitat forever.
Jefferson Land Trust is a private, non-profit, grass-roots organization. Our mission is to help the community preserve open space, working lands and habitat in Jefferson County on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula of Washington State.
Jefferson Land Trust has been helping the community to protect open space, working lands and habitat for 21 years now, thanks to the foresight of four community members who recognized the need for a local conservation effort to provide a legacy of special landscapes of Jefferson County, AND to the amazing, ongoing dedication of volunteers, landowners, and community members.
We work primarily with private landowners who want to preserve for future generations the natural beauty and bounty of the land they treasure. Most often this is done in partnership with the landowners through a permanent agreement that runs with the land called a conservation easement, though we also hold property as well.
